About Mr Joe!
I have recently graduated with a Doctoral degree from QUT in science education. For the latest in all my science shows, please go to www.drjoe.id.au
I am Dr Joe (AKA Joseph Ireland). I have been working in educational settings for over 11 years, in areas from Kindergarten to Tertiary. I began teaching in the Northern Territory as a High School science teacher, but now have taken to freelance shows as a much more rewarding experience. I bring an infectious love of life and learning to any educational environment, and I enjoy the challenge of making people think!
I have a masters degree in education, a graduate diploma of education (secondary), and a bachelor degree in science (psychology). I am currently studying a doctorate of philosophy of science education at QUT - focusing on teachers conceptions of inquiry learning in science. I have written a few articles on science education and other things which you can read and comment on under ‘categories’ to the right of this message.
I am a devout christian, enjoy dabbling in complementary therapies, and I live happily in Brisbane with my dear wife and 3 daughters, also very dear.
